Foam dewars provide a neat and handy alternative to heavier vessels or the commonly utilised styrofoam shipping containers. The special foam material is chemically inert and mechanically durable enough to be exposed directly to liquid nitrogen, without leaking or degrading. Patented design makes the foam vessel easier to handle and safer to use than a traditional low profile glass dewar. Because of its lower thermal mass, a foam vessel will cause less liquid nitrogen boiling when it is filled. The foam surface will also accumulate less frost. The Mini Foam Dewar (130ml)

  • Cylindrical cavity - 5cm in diameter x 8.9cm deep
  • Easily holds 130ml and a maximum volume of 175ml of liquid nitrogen. 
  • Perfect for applications that require a small quantity of cryogenic liquid.

The Standard Foam Dewar (800ml) 

  • Cylindrical cavity - 15 cm in diameter x 7cm in depth.
  • Designed to replace large glass dewars, because the foam has superior durability, safety, insulating properties.
  • The standard vessel shape is circular, with a protruding handle. Each dewar comes with a matching foam lid to insulate the contents from ambient air.

The Small Foam Dewar (500ml) 

  • Cylindrical cavity - 11.5cm in diameter x 7cm in depth.
  • Same basic shape and features as the Standard Foam Dewar but a smaller diameter cavity. 

The Large Foam Dewar (1400ml) 

  • Cylindrical cavity - 16cm in diameter x 9.5cm in depth
  • Slightly bigger version of the popular standard vessel. 

The Tall Foam Dewar (1800ml) 

  • Cylindrical cavity - 9cm in diameter x 32cm in depth
  • Developed for short term storage of canes of protein crystallography samples. 
  • Offers excellent durability and safety. Its insulating properties are comparable to those of conventional stainless steel and glass dewars, at a fraction of the cost.
