Precision brain punches and handle
These Precision Brain Punches allow for down to 250µm diameter areas to be isolated out from the brain using the "Palkovits Punch" technique. Ideal for targeted removal of specific brain nuclei, tracts and other subdivisions.
Each punch has an electropolished sharp end for smooth cuts and minimal tissue adhesion, with smaller tubes reinforced by an outer layer of concentric tubing except at the tip. A convenient handle improves aim and pressure and is shaped to minimise visual obstruction.
The tissue is expelled from the punch into the collection media via spring-loaded nylon expellers to avoid risk of contamination, where volume of the extracted tissue can be calculated with precision based on the punch diameter and frozen section thickness.
Punch sizes:
- Eight conveniently colour-coded punches of 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.0, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75 and 2.00mm (±5%) .
- Punches can be ordered in sets or individually with or without a handle.
