Micro-Tools stainless steel, ruler tip
All the Micro-Tools with stainless steel tips, formerly from Minitool, are forged from 304 grade stainless steel, followed by precision grinding, lapping and polishing steps to create the ultimate in precision manipulation tools. The stainless steel Micro-Tools withstand corrosion better than tool steels are more suitable for moist or wet environments encountered in pharmaceutical, medical, biological and biochemistry applications.
The Micro-Tools with stainless steel tips are mounted in stainless steel tool cones. Stainless steel tools are not as hard as the Micro-Tools made from hardened tool steel.
Available:
- Ruler tip, 10mm scale with 0.1mm divisions
- Shank sizes 0.5mm
Also available separately:
- Micro-Tools Handle, to fit all Micro-Tools, threads are 8-32.
- Micro-Tool sets available with handle and eight replaceable screw-on tips in a hardwood storage case.
Caution: Micro-tools are very fine, hard and brittle. Take special care when removing from the tube. Press the blue square holding the tool onto a flat surface with the tube up at a shallow angle. Hold the tube near the other end and gently twist back and forth while pulling very lightly. The tube will suddenly clear the blue plastic, and the tool could easily touch the tube. Some tools are on a barely visible shaft extending slightly from the larger shaft. Practice removal first using the opposing blue stopper which does not hold a tool. See image below for clarification.
Note: Tools are packed by the manufacturer in perfect conditions. These tools like diamond knives and sapphire micro-scalpels are assumed to have been shipped in perfect conditions and any problems almost certainly are due to mishandling.
