UltrAuFoil grids for cryo-EM, holey gold films regular square array

The UltrAuFoil holey gold films have been specifically developed for cryo-EM to reduce radiation-induced motion of cryo-specimens during imaging. The regular square array grids have um-sized circular holes with either a 200 or 300 gold mesh grid of 0.04-0.05?m thick polycrystalline gold foil. Similar to Quantifoil, but the gold used instead of carbon make UltrAuFoil less fragile. They can be made hydrophilic using low-energy plasma and improve your image quality without the use of sophisticated drift correction or hardware. 

Sizes:

• 200 mesh grids - 2um diameter hole x 2um grid spacing
• 300 mesh grids - 1.2um diameter hole x 1.3um grid spacing or 0.6um diameter hole x 1um grid spacing

About use:

• The gold foil prevents the UltrAuFoil from changing shape when the sample is cooled during preparation
• Chemically inert and biocompatible
• Less fragile than carbon foils, highly conductive, & non-oxidising
• The foil is ready to use when delivered, no expiration date, recommended use within two years
• Can be made hydrophilic using low-energy plasma 
• A continuous film of carbon can be added using a standard float transfer method
